Same procedure as every year!

Each year in October, it is that time again: Philipps-Universität, the City of Marburg and the Students’ Union greet the new students (first and second semester) with a three-course surprise welcoming dinner in the Studentenhaus (Student Centre) on Erlenring.

As of 5:30 p.m. the new students can visit the Info-Exchange and collect what they need to know about the city, university, Student Union, jobs and primary residency.

At 6:30 p.m. is the cue to take a seat in the expansive Mensa dining hall, where the director of the Student Union, Dr. Grebe, the president of the university, Prof. Dr. Nienhaus, the chancellor of the university, Dr. Friedhelm Nonne, the mayor of Marburg Egon Vaupel and Dr. Kerstin Weinbach from the city of Marburg greet the guests.

The Student Big Band provides the table music.

Admission to the festive dinner is 2 Euro.

Advance tickets are available (you must show your student ID card) at the Infopoint in the Student Centre on Erlenring, Bistro Mensa Erlenring, Café Leonardo in "Audimax”, Cafeteria Lahnberge, Students’ Centre (Studentenzentrum), Buffet Lahnberg, Hans-Meerwein-Straße.

In addition, at 11:00 a.m. of the same day the university presidium greets the new students in the Aula of the "Alte Uni” (the old university) an Lahntor.
